I squint my eyes at the blinding light of the sunset
Only glancing away to watch the leaves swirl down into the aqua lake.
The orange sky, shaded with pinks, purples and yellows, sucks light towards it furiously.
Dark pine trees surround as the water laps away at my bare feet.
Icy air coats my warm breath as the sun fades into the towering mountains that are tipped with snow.
Shiny pale lights leap towards view in the darkening sky.
Now the water is navy.
The pine trees have darkened.
Sunset is gone, only the stars light the path home.
